Tax season!

Hello all!

Welcome to blog #2. It’s been a little while since I made my first blog. I have been slacking lately with my website. Anyway, I hope all is forgiven. I started winter term about a month ago, turned 21, and just filed my taxes! So life is pretty great. I’m only taking three classes this term, which is the least I have ever taken. I’m giving myself some much-needed TLC and taking it easy this term. I’m taking two online classes, which are not my favorite, and I find it very hard to stay focused on them. I’m taking Islamic art history and a gender class online, and then I’m taking a black-and-white photography class in person. The photography one is my favorite. I have been taking film pictures with my point-and-shoot camera for over a year now, and I am heading into the manual film world. It’s a big adjustment from automatic exposure to all that. My first few rolls weren’t the best, but I am only improving! I’ve realized I don’t like not being good at something on the first try, and I quickly get discouraged if I cannot achieve absolute perfection on the first try. But who am I kidding? Nothing and no one is perfect. Imperfect art is more perfect, in my opinion, so I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to accept that my art isn’t perfect. Wow, I love doing these blogs. It feels so good typing out everything, even if no one is going to see this or engage with it, it’s fun for me to do. So yeah, that’s about it. I’ll upload some of my film pictures soon. I just got a printer and a scanner, and they are my new prized possessions. Also, for the new year, I am challenging myself to collage everyday just to get my creative juices flowing, and I have been having so much fun with it. That’s also helping to get over my imperfect art fear because some pages are shit, but I made it, and that’s beautiful in itself. Alrighty, that’s all I’ve got, for now, I must go to bed soon.
